The Avril Lavigne Foundation is again partnering with LymeLight Foundation to raise funds to provide treatment grants to children with Lyme disease. Every year for Avril’s birthday, she asks her fans to give back to others in need. This year, she is again raising funds to support a cause that’s very important to her personally: helping people with Lyme Disease – who could not otherwise afford treatment – get the care they need. Only a small percent of people get the early diagnosis and treatment that is so important in fighting the disease. Most insurance companies do not cover the treatment of chronic Lyme disease. Families are often left on their own to battle the disease often incurring enormous medical debt. The Avril Lavigne Foundation’s goal is to raise $50,000 to help more children receive proper treatment and medications in their fight against Lyme disease.
