Daniel Phill’s paintings suggest botanicals, florals, and landscapes. His expressionist methods show an intuitive and painterly directness. Phill trusts in the gestures and mark making that come with a spontaneous approach. Nature is reimagined by abstracting space, resulting in works with a textured and radiant life.
Phill was born in Tacoma, WA and received an MFA from Stanford University.
Selected collections that include his paintings are: Achenbach Foundation, CA Palace of the Legion of Honor Museum; Citigroup; De Saisset Museum, Santa Clara University; GTE; Morgan Stanley; Nordstrom; Pfizer; Santa Clara Valley Medical Center; Sprint; Stanford University; Sutter Health; Texas A&M; and Tucson Museum of Art, among others.
A solo show of Daniel Phill’s paintings will be held at Studio Shop Gallery in Burlingame, CA from March 9th to 25th, 2018. With an Opening Reception for the Artist: Friday, March 9th at 6pm.
