Award-winning artist Karen White has lived in the Bay Area since the 1960s - when much of the region was agricultural. She began painting in oils during childhood; the texture and vibrancy of oils -- and the sheer thrill of painting -- have remained with her into the present. She has a fresh strong approach with simplified design and saturated color. In her work, she uses big brushes and confident strokes; the surface texture of the paint often tells its own story.
Karen has studied for decades at Pacific Art League, California Academy of Painters and Palo Alto Art Center. She has also worked with many noted and inspirational artists, including Brigitte Curt and Jim Smyth, Van Waldron, Brian Blood, Kim English, Robert Genn, Mike Kirschel, Terry Miura and Randall Sexton.
