Last year LymeLight Foundation was inspired by John Donnally’s ride across the country in his Tick Borne Disease Alliance, TBDA Bite Back for a Cure campaign. He raised $100,000 for TBDA to support research targeted at finding a better diagnostic test. As he made his way across the country, he met with hundreds of Lyme disease patients, several physicians and researchers, and shared their stories through a social media campaign.

This summer, LymeLight Foundation was thrilled to have the TBDA Ambassador, join us this year at our 2nd annual Ryde for Lyme in Marin County, CA. John and the rest of the LymeLight Ryders raised over $77,000 for the LymeLight Foundation. The funds raised will be distributed as grants to children and young adults suffering from Lyme disease to help pay for their medical treatment.

John feels very strongly about connecting with others who have been impacted by Lyme and its related tick-borne diseases, and finding ways to create honest dialogue and a unified voice to address this national health crisis.

We hope that collaborative fundraising and awareness events like this between TBDA and LymeLight and will continue, bringing an even greater awareness to our common cause, and unity across the country between Lyme disease organizations.
