Samuel Paul Greene Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament

The family of Samuel Paul Greene Jr. is hosting a memorial golf tournament in honor of their amazing and dearly missed “Sammy”. Sammy was a vibrant young man who had a passion for his family and his friends. His 31 years of life was filled with adventures on anything with wheels, spending time outdoors, and helping others. Sammy never knew a stranger – he was a friend to everyone from 9 to 90.

Sammy was his family‘s pride and joy who loved easy and was easily loved. He suffered greatly from Lyme disease for 4 years, which led to confusion and depression. In the beginning there were numerous hospital visits and doctors’ appointments where he was dismissed from uneducated practitioners. There was such a lack of knowledge from the medical community for the treatment of his Lyme disease. His burden of disease progressed rapidly; however, he did eventually find a Lyme Literate Practitioner and he had been scheduled to begin aggressive treatment for his Lyme disease. Unfortunately, it was not to be, and he passed away on December 29th, 2022. This has left his family utterly heartbroken and devastated without measure.

As his mother Michelle expressed, “Too many people slip through the cracks, we want to do something to change that.” So together with family, friends, and a supportive community they are all linking arms to raise awareness about Lyme disease and do something to provide care for those battling this illness.

Thus, the creation of the Samuel Paul Greene Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament. This 4-man scramble event has filled up quickly and is creating quite a buzz. The proceeds for this event given in memory of Sammy will go to LymeLight Foundation to raise awareness about Lyme disease as well as provide treatment grants for children and young adults who cannot afford care. The legacy of Sammy will shine brightly in the hope filled future that will be provided to others who battle Lyme disease.
