Kaiya – We Have Our Little Girl Back

At the age of seven, Kaiya was frequently sick with headaches, severe stomach pain, sinus infections, joint/bone pain and memory retrieval problems. We discovered that she, along with her entire family, had Lyme disease. We were so afraid for our future. None of our treatments were covered by insurance. All doctors’ appointments, medicine and labs were extremely expensive. Our biggest concern  was, how were we going to get our children well?

Due to the grant from LymeLight Foundation, we have been able to provide Kaiya with the care she needs. She has been able to visit a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor and received a proper diagnosis and treatment for Lyme disease. We have been able to afford all of her doctors’ visits, prescription medications, supplements, equipment, and chiropractic visits.

Kaiya has been in treatment for Lyme disease for one year now. She has made immense progress. Kaiya returned to school with good attendance and plays with her friends again. She can eat without spending the night on the couch curled in a ball crying in pain, saying “I think I’m dying,” because her stomach pain was so bad. She has gone several months without complaining about stomach pain now. She has made leaps and bounds in her recovery. She is happy and thriving.
