Sam – On the Road to Recovery
Sam has had Lyme disease for a long time. Like so many others, he suffered with many symptoms, but the doctors said he was ‘fine’. Besides not feeling well, his joints ached, his memory and eyesight were getting bad, and he was very depressed. He was misdiagnosed with high blood pressure and hemochromatosis, a condition of iron buildup leading to organ failure and death.
Sam was finishing high school and hoping to go to college, but his neurological issues were so severe, that attending college was not possible. Sam saw a physician and she suspected he had Lyme disease, and a bloodwork test confirmed her suspicion. He has Borrelia, co-infections Bartonella and Babesia, and mycotoxins.
Sam is getting better and with the help from LymeLight, we were able to get the treatments that Sam needed to get him on the road to recovery. We are still working on his recovery, but Sam has gotten so much better. He now has a full-time job.
LymeLight gave us the freedom to use funds for treatment that was specific to Sam’s needs. Sam would not have been able to get this far in his recovery without the generous grant funding from LymeLight.
