Rocky LymeLight Foundation Story Of Hope

Rocky – My Story

Today I am writing to share our story of hope in hope that someone else will see this and be encouraged. My name is Rocky and my mom is helping me tell my story. I am a 5-year-old little boy who loves all things outdoors, my dogs, and just spending time with my family. Back in April I unexpectedly got super sick and that yielded several trips to the hospital, multiple trips to the ER and overnight stays, and plenty of bloodwork to go along with that. One thing in common on every visit was that they weren’t sure what was going on and that it was all just “viral”.

I lost the ability to walk had swollen joints and had a rash all over my body. My mom kept pushing for answers as only moms can and will when it comes to their sick child. After multiple failed attempts and my mom staying up all night researching, she found what she believed I had, Lyme disease a small insect that turned our world upside down. For anyone who has ever experienced this you know it is financially draining and mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting as well.

We found a support group on Facebook that was able to get us in the right direction for a diagnosis and further treatment. After back-and-forth trips to Missouri (we live in TN). We had a diagnosis, and it was what we thought. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease. My mom was speaking to someone, and the conversation of the LymeLight Foundation came up and it was truly an absolute BLESSING. LymeLight Foundation changed our lives and gave me the chance to fight and get better.

We had a trip to my Missouri doctor in November and will have another trip in May of 2025. Thanks to the LymeLight foundation we can continue my treatment, and I am on the way to healing. Thank you LymeLight Foundation for what you do, there aren’t enough words we can say to express our gratitude. It is my family’s hope that we will be able to pay it forward. My words of encouragement and advice are this, YOU are not alone and there are tons of support, and this truly is a community. Healing is possible and we are all rooting for you.

Love, Rocky and Family
